The University of Colorado Boulder topped two leader boards in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2011 Game Day Challenge -- a national competition to eliminate waste generated at college football games. CU won the 48-school “Diversion Rate” and 17-school “Organics Reduction” categories in the EPA’s NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision contest.

The University of Colorado Buffaloes will play the University of Southern California Trojans on Friday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at Folsom Field. Folsom Field will open at 5:30 p.m. for the first-ever Friday night game, which will be televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN 3D.

University of Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn announced Tuesday morning that Dan Hawkins has been relieved of his duties as head football coach of the Buffaloes effective immediately.
