Months of 'Shakespeare at CU' events kick off with April 23 birthday bash

The University of Colorado Boulder will honor the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death with Shakespeare at CU, a program consisting of more than 40 events and exhibitions scheduled through August. Shakespeare’s birthday – and the day he died – are both celebrated April 23. While historians are not exactly certain of Shakespeare’s precise birth date, they do know he was baptized on April 26, 1564 and was likely born three days before that.

The CU Museum of Natural History invites the public to learn about the fascinating world of butterflies and the extraordinary role they play in human life at the new “Becoming Butterflies” exhibit, opening Saturday, April 9 on the University of Colorado Boulder campus.

CELEBRATE: 2016 Exhibitions Opening Party at the CU Art Museum

Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras, and Valentine's Day fall within a few days of each other this year. The CU Art Museum is adding another reason to celebrate with the opening of three new exhibitions this Friday, Feb. 12. The opening festivities will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the CU Art Museum, located in the Visual Arts Complex. Admission is free. The evening will include a variety of performances and activity stations, along with the opening of three new exhibits.
