Chancellor's Corner: Finish strong and happy holidays

Dec. 5, 2016

As we rush to meet deadlines during the semester wind-down, we can often get caught up in what's happening around us, or to us. It is worth stopping, taking a breath and realizing our success is truly up to us and our individual frame of mind. We each have a great deal to say about our own success just through our approach and beliefs. Believe in yourself and your capabilities.

Chancellor's Corner: Embracing free speech and listening to different viewpoints

Dec. 1, 2016

You may have seen that conservative journalist Milo Yiannopoulos will be coming to CU Boulder on Jan. 25 at the invitation of two student groups, the College Republicans and Turning Point USA. Some of you have expressed your concerns on social media, in letters to my office, and to me in person that CU Boulder is allowing such a controversial speaker to hold an event in a campus building.

From the Dean of Students: Show your Buff spirit

Dec. 1, 2016

I’d like to take a minute to congratulate our Buffs on a great football season. Our team has a lot to be proud of, and we as fans have enjoyed The Rise throughout the season beginning back in August.

Senior Vice Chancellor Kelly Fox

From the SVC: Celebrating the community we build

Nov. 28, 2016

As we return to the campus after fall break, it is hard to believe we have only two full weeks left before finals begin, and our semester comes to a close. This campus is a remarkable place, and I encourage us to finish strong, and celebrate the community we are building here at CU Boulder.

Provost Russell Moore

From the Provost: Recommitting to our values as a university

Nov. 14, 2016

Several months ago I wrote a column focusing on the election, the Colorado Creed and the importance of engaging with each other in respectful dialogue. As another campaign season comes to an end and we strive to reunify our nation after two years of spirited and sometimes contentious and polarizing debate, I think it’s important again to remember and recommit to our values as a university.

Chancellor's Corner: Achieving a diverse, inclusive community

Nov. 7, 2016

We need to recognize the importance each of us has in shaping the culture of the campus by the way we interact with one another. Dialogue about achieving a diverse and inclusive community must be part of our daily conversation.

From the SVC: Collaborative approaches bring energy and community

Oct. 17, 2016

When we approach the university’s work collaboratively, the energy and ideas brought to the table benefit all elements of our enterprise. I appreciate the work being done across the campus to create a culture that is inclusive, collaborative and innovative.

Provost Moore against a background of the university

From the Provost: A community of support for our students

Oct. 10, 2016

It’s October. The time of year when the leaves fully change, snow may begin to fall, the sun starts to set earlier, and you may begin to question whether you really belong on campus. Let me assure you that, you are not alone in feeling this way and yes, you most certainly belong.

Dean of Students and Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Akirah J. Bradley

From the Dean of Students: Please continue to support each other

Oct. 6, 2016

Yesterday was quite scary and unsettling for many students and the entire CU Boulder community. During times like this it is important to pay attention to your emotional well-being.
