Nicole R. Stone

Nicole is the licensing manager for biosciences within Venture Partners at CU Boulder. In this role, she guides university researchers through the invention commercialization process, from invention disclosure to patent filing, licensing and startup creation.

Prior to joining Venture Partners, Nicole worked as a research scientist and drug discovery project team leader in the department of RNA, Gene Therapy, & Delivery at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (JJIM) in San Francisco, CA. She gained experience in licensing and startup assessment through an internal career development opportunity with JJIM’s External Innovation team. In addition to her scientific and business roles, Nicole also coordinated summer internship programming and multiple community outreach events for her campus and served as co-chair of the Northern California Chapter of the Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement.

Nicole completed her BA in biochemistry from DePauw University, PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of California San Francisco and postdoctoral studies at the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease.
