Event Information

Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants are key ways university spinouts and innovation firms fund their technologies' early development and commercialization. These programs offer the opportunity to access millions of dollars without giving up any equity. To highlight the strategic use of these programs, Venture Partners at CU Boulder and the Center for Translational Research will host an introductory SBIR/STTR Day to help university researchers understand how to win and utilize these programs.

Join us for an overview of the federal SBIR/STTR grant program, an open Q&A with Tim Morrissey—cofounder of Artimus Robotics, with first-hand experience of winning 13 government contracts for over $5 million—and a panel of SBIR/STTR winners and company founders who will share tips and tricks including Michael Hemmer, JILA and KM LabsMichael HurowitzOrbital Microsystems; and Antonio CaravacaModendo.
