Hannah Cairney is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Water Reuse Treatment. She is advised by Prof. Anthony Straub, and her research focuses on the effects of oxidant exposure on hydrophobic membranes used in desalination systems. Hannah is especially interested in the application of advanced water treatment processes in a global engineering context and increasing the accessibility and sustainability of high quality drinking water globally. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and participating in almost any outdoor activity.
