Rod Beadle, PE serves as the Senior WASH and Response Advisor for Food for the Hungry (FH). Rod is a registered civil engineer with 36 years of experience designing and constructing infrastructure projects throughout the world. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and an MS in International Public Service from DePaul University. He supports WASH activities in 20 countries where FH implements child-focused, community transformation programs. He also supports FH’s Relief and Humanitarian Response Unit in responding to natural and manmade disasters. Over the past 10 years, he has provided WASH support during and after earthquakes, disease outbreaks, floods, droughts, hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons, refugee crises, and armed conflicts. Rod will be speaking on the importance of designing and implementing effective WASH facilities and good hygiene practices to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in vulnerable populations in the aftermath of disasters.
