Students who volunteer with the Reading Buddies program help their reading buddies create their own storybook over the course of the semester. This is a very powerful undertaking for the children who participate in our program, as they get to become the author and illustrator of their own book. But it is also a very rewarding experience for our Ling 1900 volunteers. At the end of the semester, participants in the Literacy Practicum watch their buddies read their storybooks out loud before friends and family members.
