What I enjoy most about working for CU Boulder

I most enjoy interacting with the students, faculty, staff, and community members of CU Boulder. As a Colorado native, I understand and value the impact that one person or department can have on the whole city and state. The campus scenery and location are also a huge plus!

Bio

In 2019, Megan Varra earned her B.A. in Sociology with a Minor in Counseling and Social Change from San Diego State University. She began her advising career in higher education at University of California, San Diego as an undergraduate, general education academic advisor. She then earned her M.S. in Academic Advising from Kansas State University in 2022. She found her passion of working with students as an orientation leader, peer advisor, and other student roles in her undergraduate career.

As a professional, she finds her purpose by encouraging student self-advocacy and storytelling, empowerment through education, and community building. As a Colorado native, Megan is excited to be back home after a seven year stay in San Diego and breathe in the fresh mountain air. In her downtime, you can find her cooking, watching or attending the Broncos and Avalanche games, and cuddling with her corgi, Barney.
