The College of Media, Communication and Information (CMCI) and the Program in Environmental Design (ENVD), at the request of Provost Russell Moore, are in the process of integrating. No students, faculty, staff, or programs are currently affected as this integration process gets underway. This process is expected to take several years to complete.
The integration of ENVD and CMCI is in response to the longstanding need for an academic home for ENVD that would support its research, scholarship and creative work. This was strongly reinforced by the 2019 Academic Review and Planning Advisory Committee (ARPAC) recommendation that ENVD find an “appropriate administrative home.” ENVD is currently housed in the Graduate School. Progress made since summer of 2023
- Discussed administrative and budgetary matters and academic programs and policies with university subject matter experts to draft the roadmap for full integration.
- Created the CMCI and ENVD integration webpage.
- Updated campus via CU Boulder Today: CMCI and ENVD integration process begins.
- Held a change management workshop with key unit leaders that created a sense of excitement and a heightened sense of great potential for this integration.
