Born in Colorado, Kathleen Hammond began her study of Spanish at the age of twelve. She pursued her connection to the Spanish language and culture over the years that followed. She holds a BA from the University of Denver in Spanish, studied at the Universidad de Valencia, and received her JD from the University of Colorado. As a former ballerina who performed in Spain, and a retired attorney who served the Boulder community, Kathleen brings broad experience to her teaching. She comes to ALTEC following ten years as a Spanish instructor at Front Range Community College. Kathleen is an avid student of the Spanish Civil War and the poetry of Antonio Machado.
