Eligibility

  • Be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have DACA/undocumented status.

    • We regret that we are unable to provide immigration support or documentation (such as F-1 visas or I-20s) for students in our Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions programs.

    • Please be aware that it can be difficult for international students to gain admission to professional school in the United States. For those seeking admission to allopathic medical students (those granting an MD degree), it can be particularly difficult. For more information, please visit the AAMC's Applying to Medical School as an International Applicant webpage.

  • Have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university located in the United States or Canada.

    • We may consider applicants who graduated from an international college or university on a case-by-case basis. If this consideration applies to you, please be aware that it is common for medical schools to require a certain number of credit hours to be completed in the United States or Canada, above and beyond the prerequisites. Some require completion of a U.S. or Canadian bachelor's degree. Please contact us at postbaccprehealth@colorado.edu if you have questions.

  • Submit a complete PostBacCAS application by February 3, 2025 (no later than 11:59 p.m., Eastern Standard Time).

Components of a Complete Application

  • Official transcript from each U.S. or Canadian college or university where you have an academic record, sent directly from the school to PostBacCAS.

  • Two required letters of recommendation (following the specifications listed on this page), uploaded by letter authors to PostBacCAS.

  • Completed CU Boulder Program Materials section.

  • If invited, completion of a Zoom interview.

  • Satisfactory completion of our prerequisites by May 22, 2025.

We conduct a rolling admissions process. We start reviewing applications in September each year and continue until the class is filled. (Accordingly, it is to your advantage to complete your application in advance of the deadline.) Our interview season runs from September through March. In most cases, we provide interviewees with an admissions decision one to two weeks after their interview date.

Cost to Apply

PostBacCAS charges $139 for the first program and $54 for each additional program. In addition, CU Boulder charges a $50 supplemental application fee.

Each year, the Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions program is able to offer an application fee discount to two prospective students with financial need. We issue these discounts on a rolling basis during each application cycle. If you would like to be considered for one of the two annual application fee discounts, please complete our Request for Application Fee Waiver form and submit it to postbaccprehealth@colorado.edu. (Note that you must enter a PostBacCAS coupon code to receive the discount at the time of application submission and payment; discounts cannot be awarded retroactively.)
