Cat
Student Volunteer • Alma

Cat is a Research Assistant for the Crown Institute, working on the Alma, Alma-S, and Sense of Belonging Scale studies. Cat received a Master of Science in Social Work from the Columbia School of Social Work, where she worked as a forensic social worker at the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender. This experience highlighted the pervasiveness of childhood adversity and the lack of accessible mental health resources in our communities. As a result, Cat joined the Crown Institute to support mental well-being for new and expecting mothers and to expand mental health support in rural and urban communities. She views these components as crucial preventative measures for childhood adversity. Cat intends to further her passion for mental health advocacy by attending law school this fall.
