Chelsea Chandler
She/Her • Ph.D. Candidate
Computer Science

Chelsea Chandler is a joint PhD student in the Department of Computer Science and the Institute of Cognitive Science. She received her BA from the University of Virginia in Mathematics and Computer Science. Before coming to CU Boulder, she worked for Lockheed Martin as a software engineer/data scientist. Chelsea's research interests are at the intersection of natural language processing/machine learning and cognitive science/psychiatry. Specifically, she uses computational methods to analyze the language and behavior of people with mental illness. In a world where mobile health is becoming increasingly important (*cough* COVID-19), this sort of approach allows patients who can't get in to see a clinician in person to be monitored remotely, frequently, and accurately.
