Computer Science Founders Fund

Gary Nutt

As we reflect on over 50 years of the Department of Computer Science at CU Boulder, it is apparent that the contributions of our founding and early faculty were instrumental in our journey from a fledgling program to a department with the largest major on campus and a significant national and international research impact.

Over the decades, our early faculty have inspired greatness in students, shaped computer science through research, and helped society meet the growing tech needs of today and tomorrow.

Our snapshots capture only a fraction of the dedication and commitment put forth by the founding faculty, inspiring minds throughout the years through teaching, research and innovation.

As part of our 50th Celebration, we honored these contributions with the creation of the Founders Fund, an endowment, which supports undergraduate and graduate students and ensures the legacy of those who shaped our department.
