Loans for scientific studies are made to researchers (faculty, curators, etc.) associated with established institutions. International loans are acceptable when sufficient documentation of loan and specimen handling procedures are provided. Graduate students can receive specimen loans for their research by establishing the loan through their major advisor. Specimens needed for teaching will be loaned to the professor teaching the class.

All loan requests must be made well in advance, and be cleared with the curator or appropriate collections manager. Please contact section staff for more information.
