It is a tedious task for students to draw on concrete with chalk as a medium for communication to promote organizations and ongoing events. Similarly, the grounds crews of sporting events have tiresome jobs that require going out to the fields to draw lines and shapes for the corresponding sport. To make these matters nearly effortless and very accurate, we plan on designing and building a robot that can create large recreations of text, pictures and/or follow user input paths. The robot will be able to accurately create drawings on a level platform using markers or chalk. Not only does our robot help with the tasks mentioned above, it also opens up a whole new medium for artists to work with and for kids and adults alike to express their imaginations, not to mention possible use as a rehabilitation device for the handicapped.
