The goal of the OPOLES (Objective, Positional Oriented Laser Engagement System) is to design a base system for a laser tag game that incorporates the use of GPS and other communications to provide a unique game experience.
Primary design objectives:
- Incorporate GPS:
- Allow for distance calculations of ballistics.
- Allow for positional tasks/ rewards/ spawn points/ restricted play field etc.
- Modular Based system:
- If a component is outdated or discontinued, a modular system would allow replacement module without a complete redesign.
- Modules to allow for unique game experience. Possible modules include:
- GPS Module--> Required
- Force Feedback- Rumble pack/shocker/etc.
- RF link- download game rules- provide in game updates- scoring- etc.
- Gun Module--> Required
- Sensor Modules - vest/headband --> some form required
