Foundational Services
Per the campus-wide policy on IT Standards and Foundational Services, the campus will leverage identified Foundational Services to maintain business continuity and efficiency. These services are to be used exclusively and in favor of any alternative system or service that performs the same or similar function.
Campus IT Service Providers and System Owners are responsible for knowing and using Foundational Services.
Below is the current list of Foundational IT Services at CU Boulder. Click on the associated links to learn about each service.
- Learning Management System
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) services, including Active Directory, LDAP, Multi-Factor Authentication, Identity Provider for Federated Authentication Services (Shibboleth), Group Management, and provisioning of users/accounts from source systems.
- Campus Wifi: UCB Wireless, UCB Guest Wireless, eduroam. Includes oversight of all access points on campus.
- UCB wired network (LAN/WAN): Includes all internet connectivity, backbone, and edge to jacks in all campus facilities. Border Firewall.
- DNS/DHCP/IPAM Services on campus wireless and wired network (all naming and addressing).
- CU Boulder Microsoft 365 and Azure Tenant
- Google for Education including Google Cloud Services
- Campus Website and Content Management: Includes all content under www.colorado.edu
- Windows and Apple Device Endpoint Management Services
- Student Portal
