The Talon UAS is a long endurance monoplane platform with a modular payload system. The airframe consists of a single fuselage with payload and avionics bay, a single wing mounted high on the fuselage and a V-tail empennage. The airframe is 90% low-density urethane foam construction and 10 percent polystyrene and wood. The aircraft is powered via low voltage LiPo battery and a single outrunner type electric motor. The avionics are also powered via a low voltage LiPo battery. All flight control is provided via an autopilot system that allows control from a ground station or handheld flight controller. These lowcost aircraft have been instrumental in research and development for multi UAS operations.
