Analysts interested in concentrating charged particles from a dilute sample prior to analysis should consider using the Innovaprep Concentrating Pipette. Types of charged particles may include bacteria, viruses, colloids, and atmospheric particulates. The Innovaprep concentrating pipette uses a tip/cell containing a 0.05µm - 0.45µm filter to collect particles in the sample and allows liquid to pass through. Once the entire sample has passed through the pipette, the analyst determines the volume of buffer the sample will be reconstituted in. Next the sample is eluted into a new vial. The highly concentrated sample can then be used for further extraction (i.e., DNA/RNA extraction, chemical precipitation), instrumental analysis, or direct microscopic observation.
