First and foremost, thank you for your service. We are happy you are considering Colorado Law. Our admissions process gives special consideration to military service, and we actively recruit applicants who are current or former members of the Armed Services. We value the contribution that our student veterans are able to make at Colorado Law because of their life experiences and leadership skills. Our admissions page offers more information about the admissions process.

How do I get in-state tuition as a Veteran, and does that make me a legal resident?
You may be eligible for in-state tuition as soon as you arrive if you were honorably discharged from the Armed Forces. Please see our residency website for additional information.

Are there resources for Veterans on campus?
The Office of Veterans Services at the University of Colorado Boulder is available to assist students in making the successful transition to our campus environment. Veterans Educational Benefits is part of the Office of Veterans Services and helps eligible students apply to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for their VA educational benefits. They also process VA enrollment certifications for students each term.

Is there a community of Veterans at Colorado Law?
Our Veterans take an active role at Colorado Law through the Military Law Society. This student group has a threefold mission: to provide a resource for student veterans to meet, network, and socialize; to provide service opportunities (in conjunction with the Colorado Bar Association) in the local veteran community; and to provide mentoring opportunities with local attorney veterans. In addition, the Military Law Society also serves as an information resource for students interested in JAG opportunities. More information can be found in the Military Law Society section of the Student Organizations page

Does career services have any programs or initiatives geared towards veterans?
Colorado Law's Career Development Office is actively engaged with JAG recruiters from each of the service branches, and sponsors a number of events each semester that are specifically designed to meet the needs of our student veterans.
