Owen is the Founder and President of Sunrise Technologies LLC, an engineering consultancy for solar and energy storage technologies that advises on large-scale system performance, design optimization, and quality. Previously, Owen was the Vice President of Technology at juwi Inc., a developer and design-build firm for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. At juwi, he managed development-stage engineering for a multi-GW project development pipeline, oversaw plant performance for a fleet of over 300 MW of operating projects, and contributed to the construction of over 375 MW of solar power plants. Owen has also presented numerous papers on photovoltaic system performance and modeling at industry conferences. He holds a B.A. in astrophysics from Williams College, an S.M. in earth and planetary science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University.
