Description: Federal sponsors have been expanding their external activity disclosure requirements for Key Project Personnel in response to a growing national security concern (NSPM 33 – August 2021) that our academic research institutions are becoming targets of foreign government interference and exploitation. While there is a need to protect intellectual property rights and guard our research community from abuses, the federal government does not want to compromise the spirit of collaboration and openness that is central to both scientific discovery and America’s national character. Join OCG’s Research Security Administrator, Niki Spaeth, as she presents a status update of how the Federal Government is approaching this sensitive topic (NSPM 33 – January 2022), how OCG is adapting to these changes, and why we are anticipating new disclosure guidance from federal sponsors in the coming months.  NSPM-33 Implementation Guidance
