The First-Year Experience is based on the recommendations of the Foundations of Excellence (FoE) initiative, a campuswide evaluation of and plan for the first-year undergraduate environment at CU Boulder guided by the Gardner Institute and led by the Office of Undergraduate Education in partnership with the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. FoE issued reports and recommendations from the FoE Advising Committee and the First-Year Transition Advisory Committee. FoE also drew heavily from the recommendations of the RAP Task Force.
Today the First Year Advisory Board oversees the First Year Experience and First Year Experience Outcomes. The Advisory Board is charged with assessing first-year programs, planning improvements, and implementing programs and initiatives focused on the entirety of the first-year college experience.
