The general chemistry-working group has been developing learning goals for both semesters of general chemistry. Two tiers of learning goals currently exist for the courses. The topic/lecture level goals are included in the student study guide. These are designed to guide the students while they study for exams. The working group is also developing over-arching course learning goals. These goals are intended to demonstrate how the various topics in the course interconnect to form a coherent whole and have been driving forces in the development of new recitation materials.
