SEDS USA

SEDS is an international student organization whose purpose is to promote space exploration and development through educational and engineering projects. SEDS is fostering the development of future leaders and contributors in the expanding space industry.

With over 100 collegiate chapters across the Unites States and Puerto Rico, SEDS USA offers resources and projects for college students of all majors to take advantage of.

SEDS offers interdisciplinary projects throughout the whole academic year, some offered in only the fall or spring semesters. These projects allow students to form diverse teams and represent their university to think ciritally and collaborate. Learn more about what types of projects CU Boulder traditionally participates in.

Each year, SEDS students from all collegiate chapters are invited to attend the annual SpaceVision conference, hosted by SEDS USA. This conference allows students to meet and work with young professionals and attend panel discussions, hands-on workshops, live competitions, and networking events.

Originally founded in 1980 at MIT by Peter Diamandis, at Princeton University by Scott Scharfman, and at Yale University by Richard Sorkin, SEDS has now grown into the largest student-run space organization in the world. SEDS now consists of an international community of high school, undergraduate, and graduate students from a diverse range of educational backgrounds in chapters all over the world.
