Shared Governance
The College of Arts and Sciences has two representative bodies and two advisory committees that work with the administration to advance the strategic goals of the college.
The Arts and Sciences Faculty Senate consists of members of the faculty who serve on a wide range of committees. It is the primary representative body for the faculty of the college.
The Staff Advisory Committee aims to address issues of importance to and advocate for arts and sciences staff; to give timely feedback on such issues and make recommendations to the dean; to facilitate communication within the college; and to build community among arts and sciences staff and faculty.
The A&S Dean's Advisory Board is a group of alumni responsible for advising the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
The A&S Student Advisory Board represents A&S undergraduate concerns and to the College of Arts and Sciences' dean’s office. Members meet twice per month and provide A&S leadership with insights into students' experiences, communications, engagement opportunities, alumni relations and more.
