The main work of this lab is focused on measuring trace and minor element concentrations in biogenic calcium carbonates, particularly the shells of foraminifera, to reconstruct past climates. Other sample types are welcomed from outside users (see website for details). The facility includes a Class 1000 clean room for sample preparation. The lab is reached from room 118B of the Sustainability, Energy, and Environment Laboratory (SEEL) building on East Campus.
