The University of Colorado Boulder prioritizes Making Excellence Inclusive, an approach coined by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). Campus climate data has identified the need for CU Boulder to increase knowledge and awareness, develop employees and students, and take strategic action to create a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.

Register for CU Discover

During this session, you will receive a foundational description of CU Boulder’s Making Excellence Inclusive initiative. You will also receive resources and tools to further your understanding of Inclusive Excellence and enable you to begin approaching your work with through an inclusive lens.

At the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Describe Inclusive Excellence (IE) as an AAC&U initiative.
  • Utilize the Making Excellence Inclusive summary and three commissioned papers for further learning and strategic planning. Describe IE as a framework for addressing campus climate.
  • Communicate the need for IE on CU Boulder’s campus.
  • Recognize the external and internal factors that affect IE.

CU Discover elective sessions are held over the lunch hour once a month. Attendees are invited to bring a lunch for these interactive, informative sessions. 

As a component of the comprehensive, year-long onboarding program sponsored by the Department of Human Resources, the CU Discover Series is offered to new employees at CU Boulder in their first 12-18 months of employment.
