Importance of Acknowledgements

  • Acknowledgements are crucial to ensure the future of the Shared Instruments Pool. They are an essential metric for documenting the strong impact of the Shared Instruments Pool on many research projects at CU Boulder and in the surrounding areas. They play an important role in securing funding from external funding organizations like NIH or NSF and through funding opportunities inside CU, such as the Core Facility Assistance Grant Program offered by RIO.  
  • Acknowledgements are important to recognize the organizations that have made the Shared Instrument Pool possible such as the National Institute for Health (NIH) and the Biochemistry Department at the University of Colorado at Boulder. 
  • Last but not least, acknowledgements highlight the intellectual/experimental contributions the personnel of the Shared Instrument Pool made to a research project. 
  • The Association for Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) has released “Recommended Guidelines for Authorship on Manuscripts”. They are the base for the guidelines detailed below.
