Program Details

The on-campus Master of Science in Data Science program focuses on developing knowledge and skills in interdisciplinary and collaborative data science competencies including statistical analysis, data structures and algorithms, data mining, machine learning, big data architecture, and data visualization.

You will work closely with CU Boulder’s faculty and will have the opportunity to utilize the same real-world big data sets currently being used to carry out research within the university’s nationally-ranked applied mathematics, computer science, business, and geography programs.

As a graduate of the program, you will be well-prepared to apply data science skills and competencies across a wide range of industries and disciplines. You will also learn about ethical decision-making and how to effectively communicate your findings to diverse stakeholders.

STEM-Eligible: The on-campus Data Science program is STEM eligible via the U.S. Department of Education, offering an Optional Practical Training STEM Extension benefit.
