Dr. Theresa D. Hernández will be holding acupressure training sessions—utilizing the Individualized Training and Education in Acupressure (ITEA plus) web-based platform—for those involved in the pilot Be Heard group on Wednesdays from 12 to 1 p.m. (see dates and locations below). During each training session, participants will be guided through acupressure utilization and practice development. We encourage all Be Heard participants to attend, even if they need to arrive a bit late or leave a bit early because of travel time (the sessions can accommodate this).

Below, find the dates, locations, and the topics covered at each event:

This schedule is still in development. Dates will be added soon.

For over a decade, the CAIRR Neuroscience Laboratory in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder has conducted a series of clinical research studies about the efficacy of acupressure for stress, cardiovascular function in stroke survivors, and mild traumatic brain injury in both civilian and veteran populations. Findings from this research suggest that acupressure has a regulating effect on certain autonomic nervous system functions, and enhances the efficiency of the brain’s cognitive functioning.
