Mad AgPartner: Mad Agriculture

Members: Brian De Corte, Jane Cavagnero, Garrett Stoll and Sarah Meade

A global carbon imbalance, increasing strain on water systems, and widespread soil degradation have set the stage for regenerative agriculture and carbon farming to take root along Colorado’s Front Range. Mad Agriculture’s mission is to reimagine and restore our relationship with the Earth through the story, community, and practice of good agriculture. The MENV team is working locally with farmers to implement regenerative practices and make connections to alternative revenue streams. Carbon farming combines ecological awareness and agricultural techniques to improve soil health, remove carbon from the atmosphere, increase water retention, and improve yields. Navigating the uncharted territory of regenerative agriculture in the Front Range will involve a systems thinking approach that integrates best practices, ecological context, economic constraints, and an evolving policy landscape. The project will culminate in a regenerative demonstration farm plan, a farmers market outreach program, and a carbon economy service package.
